Communicating through the Internet has had an impact on how people and enterprises interact with each other. While using the advanced solutions such as VoIP make it convenient for callers to talk to the desired person in a cost-effective and enhanced manner, at the same time it generates a number of other issues such as the inability to verify the interoperability of various phones with the service provided by different operators.
OnSIP, a business phone service on the Internet by Junction Networks (News - Alert), has launched a phone certification program, under which the desk phones and soft phone applications that are verified to work with OnSIP’s popular hosted PBX (News - Alert) phone service will be recommended to the users. It will enable the phone manufacturers and developers who work in close co-ordination with OnSIP to offer reliable SIP phones to their customers. Before certifying a phone, OnSIP will carry out a number of use cases in a rigorous multi-point interoperability test upon it to verify its compliance with its service. The company offers enhanced features of a business class phone system to its customers at much less costs in a lighter and flexible manner.
“The new program is designed to identify the best investments for our customers and others in the market for quality Voice over IP phones,” commented Rob Wolpov, president at Junction Networks, the company providing OnSIP service. “As the market for VoIP soft phones, mobile clients, and desk phones grows, small businesses are looking to make wise IT budget spends on interoperable products that meet the daily needs of business users. We want to provide our customers with the best options, both in service and phones,” added Wolpov.
Both phone manufacturers and OnSIP will benefit from the mutual partnership under company’s phone certification program, as it will prominently feature the certified phone manufacturers will be prominently featured on the OnSIP website. To help the phone manufacturers and developers willing to get their phones certified by OnSIP, the company has made online participation process available at http://www.onsip.com/certification-program. While the phone manufacturers don’t have to pay any fee for participating in the program, certified phones are promoted by OnSIP within the queue of the devices certified under its phone review program.
In June 2011, Junction Networks, provider of OnSIP hosted PBX service, announced the addition of a new feature to the service, which shows live OnSIP service calls as they are made and terminated on Google (News
- Alert) Maps. Made possible by an integration of the real time OnSIP data and the Google Maps API, what users see is that each time an OnSIP call is made or received, a pin is dropped on the live call map, openly displaying call volume peak and trend information.
