ADTRAN Integrates Total Access 900 Series Gateways with Toshiba's IPedge IP Business Telephone System

ADTRAN (News - Alert), a provider of unified business and converged communications solutions, and Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division (Toshiba (News - Alert)) announced the availability of ADTRAN’s Total Access 908 and 908e gateways for use with Toshiba’s IPedge IP communication system.

ADTRAN gateways are certified interoperable with the IPedge family of systems. They are used to convert T1/ISDN-PRI to SIP Trunks, allowing the connection of the IPedge systems to SIP Trunks for cost-effective business communications.

“Toshiba Dealers can depend on the standards-based Total Access 900 Series IP Business Gateways for unsurpassed interoperability and reliability,” said Chris Thompson (News - Alert), senior product manager, VoIP,  ADTRAN Enterprise Networks Division, in a statement. “We are excited about the relationship with Toshiba and the possibilities it holds for the future.”

ADTRAN’s Total Access 900 Series gateways offer several benefits to Authorized Toshiba Dealers. They provide solution-based industry-standard SIP implementation and analog and PRI to SIP conversion for legacy support over a dynamic IP network. Dynamic bandwidth allocation capabilities provide efficient bandwidth utilization while standardized G.729a voice compression demands less bandwidth per voice call.

Total Access 900 Series delivers Voice Quality Monitoring (VQM) for enhanced Quality of Service (QoS); integrated full-featured IP router for data support and Internet access; and added survivability for network outages. In addition to these, it provides stateful inspection firewall for network security. The service is secured by a 10-year North American warranty.

“ADTRAN’s Total Access 900 Series IP Business Gateways provide reliable SIP Trunking connectivity for Toshiba’s IPedge IP communication systems. We are very pleased to offer ADTRAN gateways as an integral part of our IPedge product offering,” said Eric Abing, product manager, Toshiba, in a statement.

In a recent development ADTRAN announced EarthLink has selected ADTRAN’s NetVanta series of switches and routers and Total Access 900 series of IP Business Gateways to provide it with switches, routers and gateways to support the nationwide launch of the EarthLink Business Complete suite.
