According to a press release, the new wireless offering, developed based on the international DECT (News - Alert) (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) standard is comprised of the Polycom KIRK KWS 300 Wireless Base Unit and KIRK 5020 Cordless IP Phone and includes a new 8x8 DECT Adjunct service that enables users to dynamically transfer a live call from their desk phone to their cordless handset and vice versa.
With these new wireless telephony solutions, companies can now offer their employees the freedom to be away from their desk in another part of the office, while still remaining accessible and productive.

Moreover, the KIRK 5020 business grade color handset powers several key features including a large capacity phonebook, as well as a user-friendly four-way navigation key and a high-capacity battery powering each handset with a full day of talk time and a week of standby time. - Alert) KIRK 5020 handset as an add-on to any 8x8 supported desktop phone, so it allow a live call to be moved back and forth between their desktop phone and their cordless handset.
