Accusoft Pegasus Debuts Barcode Xpress Mobile for iOS


Accusoft Pegasus, a provider of imaging software development kits (SDKs), announced that its newly released Barcode Xpress Mobile for iOS enables users to read barcodes more quickly and accurately from their iPads and iPhones. The new solution is capable of reading QR Code, Code 39, Code 128, EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A and UPC-E and when downloading the solution one also gets an iOS compatible barcode library and a sample program.


Accusoft Pegasus explained that by integrating the Barcode Xpress Mobile into their mobile apps, companies are stated to be provided with efficient means to make or improve their workflow. For example medical professionals can employ the app to prescribe medicines to patients which in turn brings down prescription errors.

The company added that the Barcode Xpress Mobile for iOS architecture is delivered as a static library for iOS development, with interface calls in Objective-C form for easy integration and its flexible licensing based on number of clients deployed and whether app is free or paid.

Some of the fields which the app can be employed are: patient medical records – doctors can scan the barcode imprinted in patient charts or in their wristbands and have immediate access to the detailed information; consumer retail – lets consumers to simply walk into the store and scan/add the barcodes of the products they are willing to purchase; virtual business cards – business cards can created using quick response codes; records indexing – field force workers such as insurance adjusters at a car wreck or house fire can scan barcodes from forms to pull up information; and more.

Accusoft added that with its easy-to-use samples one can easily integrate barcode recognition into iOS devices’ apps or build a new app. The company claimed that Barcode Xpress Mobile for iOS is competitively priced and the company offers documented, simple APIs and detailed sample code that help developers realize faster time to market and create apps that cater to customers’ requirements.
