There can be little doubt in this day and age that the very best of the IP telephony providers are incredibly important in moving business forward. While some people think that IP telephony begins and ends with VoIP, there are quite a few different ways in which this technology can be used. For proof of just how important this technology actually is, all you need to do is witness what is going on in China's Kunming Subway.
Israeli provider of IP telephone and telecommunications, Tadiran (News - Alert) Telecom, has just been awarded a contract with China that is being called one of a kind. Tadiran Telecom will provide Kunming Subway with a customized setup for all three of its lines. Among the software that is going to be implemented in China will be mission critical dispatch system, a communications system that will allow better administration and perhaps most important of all an advanced softswitch communications system. It is actually the softswitch communications system that have really blazed a new trail when it comes to this kind of implementation in China.
This new system is actually being administered by Tadiran subsidiary KTT and is in the first stage of deployment. The subway system itself is actually a first for Kunming, China which boasts a population of almost 3 million citizens. Until this subway was announced, Kunming qualified as the largest city in the communist country that did not have a subway to call its own. The first phase of this rather large project is expected to be completed by mid-2012. Tadiran will bring more than 125 IPx 3000, IPx 500M, and Tadiran softswitch servers to the project.
Tadiran's president and CEO, Eldad Barak pointed out why his company was the choice for this massive undertaking. “Thanks to our vast experience with the requirements of the Chinese railway industry, we are able to provide high-quality solutions and one of the highest standards of service in the market. Tadiran was awarded the project in Kunming due to past successful deployments in China's transportation field.”
Tadiran subsidiary KTT was awarded the chance to implement the larger company's vision thanks in no small part to the fact that KTT is locating in Kunming.
