David Finch (News - Alert), president and CEO of ATCOM Business Technology Solutions, recently announced that ATCOM has replaced their Centrex service system with a cutting edge Mitel 3300 Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) communications system. ATCOM (News - Alert), a communications solutions provider, implemented this for the Duplin County Department of Social Services, a department that is operated by the county and administers state-supervised programs which are federally mandated and managed.
In a release, Finch said, “Our installation of a Mitel (News - Alert) 3300 VoIP system for Duplin DSS provides the agency with a network where there is perfect communication among the employees as well as the constituents they serve. The upgrade will allow the department to better serve the public and never have to compromise service due to inadequate communications features.”
There are around 125 all-paperless IP telephones that make up this innovative communications platform. Also included are applications such as Unified Messaging with desktop features that allows for easy retrieval of voicemails and their management. The call accounting feature is used to keep a track of call usage; and demand call recording is meant to handle quality assurance.
Besides the huge amount of savings that this system will give Duplin DSS, it will also provide them with a dependable as well as scalable IP system. The simplicity in management will help this agency provide better services to its constituents.
