LG-Ericsson's Business Communications Products Pass SIP Interoperability Test

LG-Ericsson's (News - Alert) iPECS-LIK, which is Ericsson’s fully SMB dedicated pure IP communications system, was tested by Ericsson and the company said its product outperformed other SIP trunking services. SIP trunking is a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and a streaming media service based on the Session Initiation Protocol (News - Alert) (SIP), which allows customers to use more than just voice to communicate.

Ericsson created the iPECS-LIK communications system to provide voice, video, content, and other streaming media applications over the air for its clients. Every component of the new communications system can be installed on any company’s network without any installation location limitations.

The system is extremely functional and only needs one user to control the web administration portion of the system. This allows for any size business to take advantage of the system due to its cost-effectiveness and it’s lack of installation space and time.

Iain Kenney (News - Alert), LG-Ericsson USA’s director of Product Marketing, said many companies test their VoIP system using the SIP trunking method.

“SIP trunking is one of the ways that businesses can leverage the latest in reliable IP networking to deliver economical broad-spectrum communications…our iPECS-LIK pure IP and ipLDK-60 hybrid communications software, both passed 3NG’s SIP interoperability testing easily, demonstrating that our customers can rely on LG-Ericsson’s IP communications solutions for reliable SIP trunking,” said Kenney.

Matthew Padiyara, 3NG Networks’ CEO, agreed with Kenney, saying testing the communications service is one of the most important things a company can do before it releases its brand-new service to consumers. “SIP interoperability testing is crucial when introducing a new system so that our clients start out with a solid, reliable solutions,” said Padiyara.

“LG-Ericsson’s iPECS-LIK and ipLDK-60 communications solutions worked beautifully in our testing, as we know they will when our clients put them to real-world use for their business critical applications either in the US or overseas,” said Padiyara.

LG-Ericsson has also released iPECS-CM, the next generation IP-PBX (News - Alert) that provides, in addition to IP telephony, various flexible high quality multimedia services, and iPECS-MICRO, which is designed for a company ranging from 2 to 20 users employing IP trunking. Both the iPECS-CM and the iPECS-MICRO can work together with the iPECS-LIK to provide a completely personalized communications system for any size business. LG-Ericsson said the benefits to a VoIP system are increasing on a daily basis and will continue to forge ahead building business communication products.
