Radisys, Net2Phone Collaborate to Offer Ongoing Upgrade Strategy

Radisys Corporation is preparing a continuous upgrade policy for the media server network at Net2Phone. Net2Phone will upgrade its network to the advanced IP media servers from Radisys, thereby offering a standards-based solution with capability to meet the future requirements. The long-lasting benefits of Radisys' advanced IP media server product approach will also help Net2Phone to offer cost effective services to the end customers.


In a release, Thom Jordan, president of Net2Phone Cable Telephony, LLC said, “Over the years, Net2Phone has been extremely satisfied with Radisys' media server product capabilities, value, high-quality and top-notch customer support. As a result, we are confident in our continued partnership with Radisys to upgrade our current media server infrastructure to a distributed network of Radisys CMS-3000 media servers.”

Dependable, open-platform architecture and standards-based interface are delivered by the CMS-3000. Customers can modify the capabilities of their media server as per their unique timing and capability requirements, as backward compatibility is allowed by Radisys media servers.

David Smith (News - Alert), vice president and general manager, media server business unit at Radisys said, “Radisys is a leading supplier of IP media servers, service delivery platforms and turnkey application software for next-generation network voice services. As exemplified through our long-standing relationship with Net2Phone, Radisys' seasoned engineers continue to demonstrate our commitment to developing superior products that enable our customers to provide reliable service to their end consumers.”

Net2Phone's hosted VoIP voicemail service implementation include a voicemail application developed by Net2Phone which was incorporated with Radisys media servers. Interactive Voice Response or IVR feature control in multiple languages along with audio recording and playback are provided by this hosted VoIP voicemail service, which is also being introduced to end customers by various cable operators.

In other news, Radisys Corp. and Polaris Wireless, a provider of software-based wireless location solutions, recently announced that Polaris Wireless is leveraging Radisys' AdvancedTCA (News - Alert) (ATCA) platform solution for OmniLocate, its universal location platform.
