Tampa, Fla.-based GSA (News - Alert) Applications has been helping small businesses win government contracts. With over 800 schedules awarded to date, it has the experience and in-house staff to deliver professional government marketing services to businesses.

According to Telecom Lead America, an online telecom B2B publication, the latest beneficiary is BandTel (News - Alert), a SIP trunking solutions provider. GSA Applications announced that BandTel has been awarded a General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule 70 contract and are now certified to provide goods and services to the Federal government, reports Telecom Lead America.

BandTel announced it is also introducing the SIPTrex-Platform, a free PBX (News - Alert) system integrated with BandTel's VectorX QoS/Security solution, T.38 fax, redundant voice POTS failover and wireless VoIP phone access, to complement its GSA schedule award.

BandTel has also placed its voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telecommunications technology on the government's electronic ordering system, the GSA Advantage, according to GSA Applications.

"As the leader in pure SIP Trunking, this schedule opens up significantly more markets throughout the country,” said BandTel CTO Peter Sandstrom. “Securing a GSA schedule will expand our reach beyond the federal government to numerous state and municipal governments as they can now take advantage of our fixed government pricing on our VoIP products and solutions."  

BandTel VoIP services solutions are designed for high-volume VoIP business communications users, according to the source. Any enterprise that seeks to reduce its telecommunications costs and yet expand functionality is a candidate for BandTel's VoIP Solutions broadband phone service.

According to BandTel, to enable clients adopt new VoIP technologies at their own pace and budget, the company offers SIP Trunking services via three key methods to its clients. They can either adopt current CPE equipment to SIP Trunking or adopt native SIP CPE support. They can also participate in BandTel's Generations program.

The report indicates that GSA Applications managed the tender process on behalf of BandTel, facilitating the application preparation, submission and negotiations with government buyers at the GSA.
