XO SIP Trunking Services Now Available from Authorized Toshiba Dealers Nationwide

XO Communications’ SIP trunking services are now available from Authorized Toshiba Dealers nationwide, according to a press release. Telecommunication Systems Division of Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. (Toshiba) and XO Communications (XO) have announced interoperability certification of Toshiba's family of IPedge IP business communication systems with XO's SIP trunking services.


As a provider of advanced IP communications, managed network and IT infrastructure services, XO Communications has been offering SIP trunking services to facilitate businesses and large enterprises to converge voice and data services over a single network and take advantage of the latest VoIP and unified communications applications, while increasing efficiency and reducing costs.

SIP trunking services offered by XO feature the XO SIP, which provides a native SIP trunk directly to the IP-PBX, combining voice, data and Internet over a single IP connection. The XO Enterprise SIP allows customers to manage VoIP services more cost effectively across multiple locations with a centrally deployed IP-PBX to deliver service to all locations over a private MPLS IP-VPN network.

Toshiba's IPedge systems, which can now be integrated with XO's SIP trunking services, essentially incorporates multiple unified communication applications on a single Linux server, such as call processing, voice mail and unified messaging, meet-me conferencing with Web collaboration, Call Manager unified communications and native SIP line and SIP trunk support.

Apart from providing mobility, survivability and networking with other IPedge and/or Strata CIX systems, Toshiba's IPedge systems also feature centralized administration, and feature-rich telephone endpoints.

Add-ons, uMobility Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) and Contact Center solutions are also available with additional servers when using Toshiba's IPedge systems.

Some inherent features of IPedge systems include:

  • Toshiba's Call Manager Unified Communications application
  • Enterprise Manager browser-based system administration with centralized multi-site management
  • Browser-based personal administration for individual users to program their own telephones
  • Flexible and feature-rich Unified Messaging;on-site mobility including Toshiba's wireless IP telephones
  • Complete networking compatibility with Toshiba's Strata CIX IP converged systems.
