Vitelity Communications (News - Alert) is bringing its SIP trunking services to the masses with a new communications bundle designed to provide legacy phone systems with advanced SIP capabilities.

The new product, dubbed SIP Enable, will provide users with a simple way to connect their traditional phone system with the Internet, giving them access to features like Web calling, SMS, vFax and global DID origination. SIP Enable was developed in partnership with Patton (News - Alert) Electronics.

"It's exciting to be able bring our SIP trunking service to systems that it was never intended for," said Chris Hall, CEO at Vitelity. "We're ultimately improving the functionality for the end-user and providing a cost-effective way to integrate this new technology into older systems."

Tyler Delin, SmartNode Product Manager at Patton Electronics, highlighted the new product's ability to increase the functionality of a business phone system without the need to replace a legacy PBX (News - Alert) system. SIP Enable also provides a simple avenue for taking advantage of highly competitive Web calling plans, he said.

"We are thrilled to partner on this project to offer customers with legacy PBX systems a simple solution for them to benefit from the added functionality and competitive calling plans of SIP," Delin added. "On top of this, Vitelity brings additional services such as vFAX and SMS services."

SIP Enable will be showcased at the International Telecom Week conference that kicks off this morning in Chicago. Those attending the conference can stop by booth 1513 for an in-depth look at the new product and a chance to win a free SIP Enable bundle.

The product launch comes shortly after Vitelity made news at ITEXPO (News - Alert) East 2012 by introducing its new International Direct Inward Dialing service, which allows businesses to create a virtual local presence in 60 countries around the world. Using the new service, Vitelity customers can buy several international DID numbers and connect all calls to a central communication center in the U.S. or abroad, TMC reported.
