Hosted and managed communication services have allowed business to get the most value for its networks compared to traditional communication systems.

To offer high return on investment for video, mobility and collaboration and improve operations within federal agencies, Avaya (News - Alert) Government Solutions has introduced Government Outsourcing Solutions (GovOS), a new easy-to-implement family of hosted and managed services for unified communications, contact centers and data networking.

Developed on cutting edge, each service provides centrally managed solutions on a per-user basis that comply with the unique security and certification needs of the U.S. Federal Government.

"Federal organizations with aging infrastructures now have a more affordable and secure way to migrate to new collaborative communications capabilities, including mobility, video and more,” said Chris Formant, president of Avaya Government Solutions. “With Avaya GovOS, they can reduce costs, transform their operations and respond to a variety of federal policy initiatives – from support for telecommuters to new outbound emergency notification programs."

According to a press release, Avaya's Collaborative Cloud framework will provide highly reliable communications and networking capabilities to both civilian and defense agencies. This will help agencies remove costly barriers to entry for new technology, and lets agencies deploy specific services to users on demand.

Based on highly scalable, SIP-based architecture, GovOS combines Avaya Aura unified communications applications, networking and services to support agencies of all sizes – from small remote offices to large organizations with tens of thousands of users.

Companies are using Avaya GovOS services to incorporate the latest collaborative communications applications, including mobility solutions and video. It allows companies to operate more productively, streamline decision-making, re-engineer business processes and deliver seamless support to office staffers, mobile workers and telecommuters.

Avaya GovOS services is seeing contracts from various government departments, including the General Services Administration (GSA (News - Alert)) IT Schedule, GSA Alliant, GSA CONNECTIONS II, GSA NetworX and Washington Interagency Telecommunications Services (WITS).
