QiComm’s carrier voice division has selected the Verscom Centralized Routing System – which provides carrier-grade centralized routing with a clustered real-time database – to migrate its main U.K. switching center to a new facility in London.
“We knew that we could proactively design a new network to meet our business needs if we partnered with the right vendor,” says Chris Joseph, CTO at QiComm. “After an extensive review, QiComm selected Verscom’s Centralized Routing System for its performance, capacity, flexibility and reliability.”
The Verscom solution includes a high-performance SIP Redirector route feature that resolves route management issues in any multi vendor, multi node and multi site packet voice network.
“We are very pleased to support QiComm’s world class network and forward thinking modernization approach” says Mehmet Balos (News - Alert), CEO of Verscom Solutions. “With VCRS, Verscom was able to support QiComm’s migration with zero service disruption, on schedule and on budget while ensuring QiComm’s specific requirements were implemented successfully. As a result, QiComm’s network is handling record volumes of traffic and customer traffic partitioning levels are being exceeded.”
Balos joined Verscom just last month. An industry veteran, he previously worked at GENBAND. He’s also held positions at 3Com, Actelis, ADC, Advanced Fibre Communications, Ericsson, Fujitsu (News - Alert), Lucent, Nortel, and Pirelli Telecom.
In announcing the addition of Balos, Gokce Bilyay, founder of Verscom group companies and predecessor to Mehmet as CEO and president, said, "Mehmet brings deep carrier and enterprise experience in wireline and wireless network technologies. His appointment will strengthen our global position in architecting and integrating our industry-proven, turnkey NGN infrastructures that cut service costs, heighten quality and drive profitability."
Headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey, Verscom sells packet voice network and converged infrastructure solutions for fixed and wireless network operators.
