Rebtel (News - Alert) recently announced the introduction of the Rebtel app for the Windows Phone. This innovative app from Rebtel can be downloaded free of charge and is currently available on the Windows Marketplace. Users who are looking for ways to make low cost but high quality international calls to their friends and family, will now be able to use this app which leverages the company’s local number network which is present in over fifty countries.

In a release, Andreas Bernström, CEO at Rebtel said, “Today, we are thrilled to take the next step towards offering the most comprehensive suite of mobile apps for low-cost international calling by announcing Rebtel for Windows Phone (News - Alert). The Rebtel app is already present for the iPhone (News - Alert), Android, iPad, and Android tablet and this new release will allow users of the Windows phone to take full advantage of Rebtel’s services. The new Rebtel for Windows Phone has a number of interesting features including low-cost calls to any phone, which allows users of the Rebtel Windows Phone app to choose any contact with an international phone number and make a calling using rates that are nearly 98 percent lower than most operator’s and 60 percent lower than existing Skype Out rates.

Bernstrom went on to say that, “Our goal is to provide free or low cost international calling to as many people as possible across the world. With Windows Phone holding a current 5.2% market share, which is predicted to reach 19.2 percent by 2016, this is a natural development for us. With Microsoft’s (News - Alert) recent unveiling of Windows Phone 8, we think the platform holds great promise and we’re very excited about this announcement that will allow us to continue keep our users happy no matter what device preference they have.”

Some of the other features of the Rebtel Windows Phone app include Native Address Book Integration; Call Whenever with Crystal Clear Quality and Low-Cost SMS.
