PortaSwitch Procinctus is in the Center of its VoIP Growth, Says Backbone Solutions

Backbone Solutions is a Schindellegi, Switzerland- based software solution provider for the retail and wholesale service providers in the telecommunication and utilities industries, and has attributed much of its success to the powerfully scalable PortaSwitch Procinctus.


PortaSwitch Procinctus is PortaOne's premium-level solution combining a VoIP softswitch, customer provisioning, billing, as well as unified voice, data, fax, content, SMS and Wi-Fi traffic – all within a single converged network.

The solution has been exclusively designed for Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSP) that deliver a high-capacity, fully redundant and converged VoIP infrastructure.

Backbone Solutions, which currently serves nearly 30,000 residential and business customers, takes pride in its technical superiority, exceptional customer service, fair pricing and a diverse range of services. In a statement, the company said that at the center of its successful VoIP business is PortaOne's PortaSwitch Procinctus VoIP services and subscriber management platform.

According to Backbone Solutions, the company started using PortaOne's basic PortaSwitch product more than eight years ago. As the firm matured, the product allowed the company to seamlessly add elements and servers to support the growth.

This reportedly let PortaOne adapt to its subscriber additions with virtually no interruption in service.

“PortaSwitch Procinctus has not only grown with us, it is one of the primary reasons we've been able to grow our VoIP customer base over time,” said CEO at Backbone Solutions Michael Vontobel. “It has allowed us to gradually improve the capacity and redundancy of our system as our needs have changed. We can also be unusually flexible in the services we provide because of the open access to the PortaSwitch source code. No other major vendor provides that capability.”

Last month, PortaOne revealed that Datora Telecom Group (Datora), a Brazil-based provider of VoIP solutions, has selected PortaBilling Oracularius, a carrier-grade converged VoIP billing and customer management platform, in order to better manage its opportunities in Latin America and global markets.
