Voice services provider IBBS recently chose the Net-Net Session Director session border controllers (SBC) of Acme Packet (News
- Alert), one of the industry leaders in session delivery networks, to improve the company’s IP-enabled wholesale voice service offerings.
The upgrade to Acme Packet’s Net-Net Session Director will assist IBBS with guaranteeing the scalability, availability and security of its hosted PBX (News - Alert) services and SIP trunking, as well as its business and residential lines.
The Net-Net Session Director addresses performance and scalability issues presented by IBBS’ (News - Alert) legacy border control solution, while its load-balancing and dynamic session routing functions guarantee high availability and service quality.
Acme Packet ensures direct unification with other VoIP frameworks like BroadSoft’s (News - Alert) VoIP application servers and the media gateways of Metaswitch. It also enables IBBS and service-oriented provider clients to provide assistance for an array of standards-based unified communications servers, endpoints and IP-PBXS.
The solution diminishes risks in security by shielding the systems from distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, preventing overloads and minimizing other service related issues.
While IBBS will benefit from this voice service infrastructure upgrade, customers will also see faster service distribution, increasing customer turn-up. Customers will receive exceptional services that are secure, scalable and most importantly, dependable.
"Acme Packet's Net-Net Session Director SBC enables us to offer a wide variety of market-leading residential and business services that meet our customers' stringent availability and time-to-market demands," said Mark Hayes, IBBS vice president of CLEC operations.
VoIP services have become very competitive in recent years, and as the competition heats up, providers have had to look for new and innovative ways to offer more cost-effective, dependable services.
IBBS’s selection of the Net-Net Session Director demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing high-quality service to its customers without the traditional high costs.
