David Hiscock, who became a part of GENBAND after the Nortel (News - Alert) CVAS acquisition, has now been appointed as senior vice president of sales, reporting to Mark Pugerude (News - Alert). He will be responsible for direct sales in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

“David has been an integral part of our EMEA success with several Tier 1 carrier customers and his vision, strategic plans for growth and proven track-record at GENBAND made him the clear choice to lead our sales organization in the region,” said Mark Pugerude, president of global sales and marketing at GENBAND

Hiscock joined Nortel in 1998 and has more than 20 years of sales experience in the telecommunications industry. He has been actively involved with sales and has held various leadership positions.

In the capacity of sales vice president for the U.K., Ireland and Nordics, he proactively dealt with strategy execution, development and furthering of sales.

With his leadership skills, expertise and knowledge of the EMEA market, Hiscock is expected to be a great value-add for the company, which continues to build on its strong market position in that region with best-in-class solutions.

“EMEA continues to be a very opportunity-rich market for GENBAND as evidenced by the recent IP Interconnect, Session Border Control and Applications wins at premier customers such as BT (News - Alert) and Orange,” observed Pugerude.

With many factors fueling GENBAND's growth across the EMEA market, Hiscock's appointment could very well prove to be beneficial.

GENBAND recently revealed that its Interconnect Solution has been selected by Global IP Tandem, a membership organization that provides a centralized VoIP switch. The Interconnect Solution is enabled by G9 Converged Gateway (News - Alert) and C3 Gateway Controller to provide any-to-any switching and media processing support in all wireless and wireline, access and core, IP and TDM environments for enhanced flexibility and cost-effectiveness.
