Verscom Solutions, an IP services enabler for wireline and wireless carriers, announced that its SIPhive solution has been selected by Econet for its Prepaid Calling Card platform.

Econet delivers telecommunications services and solutions required in mobile and fixed wireless telephony, Internet access, mobile money transfer and payment solutions.

“In order for us to succeed in the competitive UK market, we needed an uninterrupted and high quality service for the prepaid calling card business model,” said Marco Signorini, CEO at Econet.

“We chose Verscom Solutions’ professional engineering team and market-proven pre-paid calling card solution hosted by SIPhive, which enabled us to adapt our backend business infrastructure to the UK market,” Signorini added.

The Verscom’s SIPhive Calling Card Service will be able to offer a comprehensive calling card service delivered via a Voice over IP (VoIP) network. The system comprises both necessary software and hardware besides including all components such as call flow/prompts and Web-based applications that help configure and manage the system over the Internet.

These are imperative for setup and operation of a calling card service.
