CounterPath and Network Norway Forge Partnership for Mobile IP Implementation

By Contributing Writer

CounterPath has long been one of the leading International providers of mobile and desktop VoIP, thanks in large part to its Bria Smartphone. Now, the company has announced that it has struck a deal with Network Norway, which will allow Bria to power Network Norway’s brand new Mobile IP service.

Network Norway is part of the Tele2 Group, and is well known as a company that provides state of the art technological advances such as their Mobile IP service. This offering will allow users to expand their enterprise level mobile VoIP numbers to all of their devices, including their desktop computer and their tablets.

Using Bria’s top of the line carrier grade interoperability designed specifically for operations such as those by CounterPath, the Mobile IP offering means that CTOs and IT managers will be able to better manage the costs of doing business, especially in a world where BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) has become the norm rather than the outlier. Among other positives in this offering is the ability to avoid roaming charges when an employee is using their smartphone.

"Customer service and innovative solutions are core to the Network Norway experience and Mobil IP is geared to the diverse needs of our business customers. Mobil IP will together with our existing and award winning Small Cell deployments provide our customers with excellent indoor mobile coverage and achieve good quality of service. In addition, the significant reduction in roaming costs while using Mobil IP is the key selling point" explained Lasse Ganbo, head of Products and Services at Network Norway.

"We selected CounterPath because their Bria softphone is easily the number one client in the marketplace. With unparalleled quality, security, and interoperability, Bria will make Mobil IP the number one VoIP solution in Norway."

CounterPath has crafted quite a reputation among the softphone markets, and this particular partnership will only strengthen its standing.
