Truphone (News - Alert), an international mobile phone operator, has successfully established its business sales base in the San Francisco Bay Area to serve the Americas. Truphone solutions offer economical calling, texting and data network access services for subscribers at home and abroad.

The base will control sales operations and is expected to support the company’s headquarters in North Carolina’s Research Triangle Park and the Truphone Technology Center in Newark, N.J. The new office will be headed by John M. Badillo, vice president of business sales for the Americas.

Badillo said, “Truphone chose the San Francisco area because of its location on the Pacific Rim and its role as a hub for companies engaged in international telecommunications, internet applications and biotech, which can serve as both customers and sources of talent.”

With further expansion planned in the Americas, Truphone will hire more sales executives in the Bay area besides appointing managers for sales operations support and service delivery. Truphone is also actively hiring personnel for executive sales positions in other major U.S. cities to augment its sales force.
