MegaPath earns NEC's SIP Trunking Interoperability certification

By SIP Trunking Report Contributor

NEC Corporation of America recently announced that it has awarded NEC’s Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking Interoperability certification to MegaPath. As a result of the certification, MegaPath’s SIP Trunking voice services will now be interoperable with NEC’s UNIVERGE SV8100 and SL1100 communication platforms.

MegaPath SIP Trunking enables businesses to reduce costs and simplify IT management by combining voice and Internet access over a single connection using their existing IP PBX system. With SIP Trunking, the users purchase only the trunks they need based on the maximum number of concurrent calls their business requires. SIP Trunks are significantly less expensive than analog lines, further helping businesses reduce costs. MegaPath offers SIP Trunking for single-site businesses and Enterprise Trunking for multi-location businesses.

“By combining the UNIVERGE SV8100 or SL1100 communications servers and MegaPath’s SIP Trunking service, companies can build a strong base for unified communications while simultaneously managing the costs of those communications services,” said Ram Menghani, vice president of product management and development for NEC Corporation of America.

“As SIP trunking continues to grow in popularity, it will be important for companies to select solutions that can seamlessly integrate with their existing voice infrastructure,” said John Scarborough, vice president of products and services, MegaPath. “MegaPath works with our partners, like NEC, to ensure we deliver reliable, high-quality solutions that meet our customers’ voice needs without exhausting their budgets.”

In related news, MegaPath Corporation recently announced the launch of its Enterprise Trunking voice offering for multi-location organizations and standalone SIP Trunking solution for single-location business customers. These voice solutions augment MegaPath's current SIP Trunking offerings and allow companies of all sizes to purchase the Trunking component with or without MegaPath's access services.
