Flemish Environment Agency Uses Mitel to Improve Communication and Collaboration

By SIP Trunking Report Contributor

When the Flemish Environment Agency (VMM) needed a new IP telephony system, whom did it turn to? The company turned to Mitel, of course, for its Mitel Communications Director (MCD) platform. Thanks to the partnership, VMM has added the platform to its 13 offices, providing simplified management and enhanced communication and collaboration for all its employees.

VMM’s employees needed tools that could help them collaborate, no matter what their location was. Mitel’s Communications Director platform replaced the legacy communication platform that VMM was using, and as a result, the agency and its employees now have access to a flexible IP telephony system that can be scaled to its needs and managed with ease.

"The way people work has changed a lot over the past several years,” says Wim De Block, the VMM system administrator in charge of the project.

“Flexibility and mobility are increasingly becoming critical to communications across our organization, and will continue to grow. By simply moving our phone calls onto an Internet phone platform, the Mitel solution will enable us to collaborate more efficiently and also allow us to save on telephony expenses."

VMM isn’t stopping at just the Mitel Communications Director. It’s also using Mitel Unified Communicator Advanced and Mitel Collaboration Advanced applications, which help its employees check the availability of their co-workers, then initiate audio conferences, instant messages, and online collaboration.

The Flemish Environment Agency made a great choice with Mitel. Its employees can now work together and communicate better than before, with improved communication and collaboration all around.
