Brazilian Hardware Company Khomp Going Global

To understand Brazilian hardware company Khomp’s strategy to go international, TMC executive editor Paula Bernier met with the company’s commercial director Alexandre Jose Prada Silva at last month’s ITEXPO (News - Alert) in Miami, Fla. Responsible for marketing Khomp’s hardware to system integrators, Silva told the executive editor that the company has extensive experience in digital signal processing (DSP) and protocols and is now interested in marketing Khomp’s hardware to the U.S. and other countries around the world.

Bernier asked Silva to give TMCnet readers some idea about the new DSP boards that it was demonstrating at ITEXPO in Miami. Silva quickly highlighted the External Board Series, which are 1U 1/2 rack compact modules with all interfaces, including E1, GSM, FXS, FXO and recording, working out of the server. Key applications include VoIP, PBX (News - Alert), Dialers, GSM gateways and others.

To make EBS products compatible with the legacy systems that use 48-V supply, Khomp also offers EBS products with a DC 48-V power supply. However, it is offered only upon customer request at no additional cost, said the maker. According to Khomp, DC 48-V power supply has brought self-sufficiency on long-distance calls and it is low enough for preventing personal accidents. It is also a solution for reducing battery terminals sulphatation, said Khomp.

The Brazilian company recently introduced what it calls IP Door Series, another Khomp portfolio for system integrators to develop more and more complete systems. Khomp said that

IP Door Series is a set of IP telephones for doors or lobbies, which can be installed in houses, offices, apartment buildings and housing complex, or they may be used as intercommunication or emergency call devices in safety systems, as well as for access control applications.
