Masergy SIP Trunking Solution Now Compatible with Avaya Solutions

Recently, Masergy Communications has revealed that its Masergy Intelligent session initiation protocol (SIP) Trunking service is now compliant with key communications solutions from Avaya (News - Alert), a global provider of business collaboration and communication solutions.


Eric Rossman, vice president of Developer Relations at Avaya, said that partners like Masergy are helping Avaya further expand the company’s overall suite to businesses around the world.

With the help of Masergy’s Intelligent SIP Trunking service, businesses can transition their voice systems to next-generation hosted unified communications platforms, while maintaining their existing PBX (News - Alert) investments, Rossman said.

The SIP trunking offering connects businesses’ private branch exchange (PBX) hardware to Masergy’s hosted voice services. Moreover, thanks to Intelligent SIP Trunking, users can add advanced features as their business needs grow without eliminating their current PBX system.

In addition, businesses can transition their legacy voice system to a hosted unified communications model using Masergy Intelligent SIP Trunking.

Avaya has compliance-tested this service for compatibility with the Avaya Aura Communication Manager 6.2, Avaya Aura Session Manager 6.2 and Avaya Session Border Controller for Enterprise 4.0.5.

“Successful completion of DevConnect (News - Alert) Compliance-Testing brings additional credibility to our Intelligent SIP Trunking offering,” added John Dumbleton, senior vice president of Business Development at Masergy, adding that this milestone will help assure customers that the company’s systems will seamlessly work with Avaya’s solutions.

Masergy is a technology partner in the Avaya DevConnect program, an initiative created to develop, market and sell innovative third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology. As a partner, the company is eligible to submit products for compliance testing to the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab.

In related company news, earlier last month Masergy appointed Greg C. Nelson as the company’s senior vice president of Global Sales.
