Broad-Connect Telecom Inc. will now offer mobile unified communications (UC) offerings on a PBX (News - Alert) cloud-hosted platform, as the company will combine BroadWorks Anywhere technology with its IP PBX offerings, allowing subscribers of Broad-Connect Telecom to use tablets, smartphones and other mobile devices for HD video and voice calling. A “twinned” telephone number is used to make the connections over Wi-Fi networks, together with 3G, 4G and LTE (News - Alert) technology.

This multimedia phone offering is being delivered by Broad-Connect Telecom. All subscribers can now shift a call in progress between various clients to an iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry (News - Alert) or Android device directly to their mobile phone or desk phone. The caller is not restricted to the desk during a call, providing a simple mobile experience.

Apart from video and voice calling, callers can now forward or completely review e-mail, faxes and voicemail on their smartphones and tablets. Users can also configure and manage all protocols related to call administration.

Broad-Connect Telecom selected Broadworks technology mainly due to its extensive UC improvement offerings. Broadworks technology has features like the capability to place local calls for free together with inter-office calls and the option to make unrestricted long distance calls. The technology also features high-definition voice experiences; find me/follow me offerings; call routing; concurrent ringing; call forwarding; caller ID; phone call transfers; conferencing; and call parking. Other comprehensive features include visual voicemail, 3-way calling, fax to e-mail, etc. Subscribers can use an administration portal online for accessing an assortment of choices and features, modifiable via a perceptive dashboard.
