BluePromoCode, an online coupon store which deals in coupon codes for online retailers, has ventured into the technology services market by offering discounts on VoIP and Internet phone services. Because these are a big part of today’s interconnected workplaces and are understandably expensive parts of maintaining a workplace, it makes sense for BluePromoCode to have a coupon for this because it readily and quickly comes up with the most affordable options.
This is not the first time that BluePromoCode has put up discounts for technological services. As of June 27, 2013, they also have some coupons for Web hosting services, no-contract wireless plans, and many office appliances such as photo scanners and copiers. However, with the spread of VoIP plans in the decade since their introduction to commercial markets, it seems only right that they offer this, because it is such a widely used service now.
Two companies whose services BluePromoCode is offering discounts for are Phonebooth and eVoice (News - Alert). Phonebooth, which purports to offer a 60-percent discount to normal phone lines and also registers as $20 per user per month, keeps the low framework of its price and still adds features such as unlimited minutes, voice-to-e-mail text transcriptions and conference calling. eVoice is only $9.95 for a hookup, offers international calling between the U.S. and Canada and can service both markets well.
The rise has been rather meteoric for the service in its short history. At the end of its first year being sold in 2002, it had about 121,000 subscribers. One decade later it had over 30 million subscribers in the United States alone, and that encompasses both the private and the public sector, in workplaces and private homes. It is a multi-billion dollar industry, generating $15.4 billion in revenue during 2012 alone. The main reason for its growing popularity over standard phone lines is because its service is much cheaper than a regular landline hookup.
