TV viewers prefer to have a wireless system in their homes, which offers reliable fast transmission of data to their television sets. But with the advent of high definition of content, Wi-Fi operators are increasingly finding it difficult to transmit such a heavy load on a Wi-Fi network.

Looking to wirelessly stream video content and data throughout to multiple TVs and to tablets and smart phones, Belgacom has deployed the new Bbox3 gateway from Sagemcom (News - Alert) featuring Quantenna 4x4 MIMO WLAN chipsets working in the 5GHz band. With the new 802.11n Wi-Fi standard as its base, Bbox3 provides numerous high-end features such as ADSL/VDSL2 Wi-Fi concurrent dual band gateway.

Quantenna standard-based 802.11n and 802.11ac Wi-Fi products deliver reliable, high-speed wireless coverage throughout the whole home for the broadband customers of Belgacom (News - Alert). The advanced Wi-Fi performance architecture provided wired like connectivity in the home. Quantenna 4x4 solutions are compatible with numerous third party clients such as smart phones, tablets or any consumer devices in any MIMO configuration.

The Quantenna QHS710 is the world’s first chipset with 4x4 MIMO. It enables the transfer of high definition video to multiple televisions, with whole-home coverage. All these can be done with a single wireless home network, which offer a complete range of services and applications.

“We are excited to be adding Belgacom to the list of the service providers that are deploying Quantenna solutions. Quantenna 4x4 Wi-Fi technology is replacing wired technologies like PLC or MoCA to deliver payTV and broadband services to multi-room deployments. Our 4x4 solutions have been chosen due to their wire-like quality and the coverage they provide,” said Dr. Sam Heidari, CEO at Quantenna. “We value our relationship with Sagemcom and we look forward to furthering this partnership with our 802.11ac chipset.”

Recently, the company announced the commercial availability of 4x4 MU-MIMO 802.11ac chipset – part of the QSR1000 family.
