IntelliSIP Certified Interoperable with Toshiba IPedge Business Telephone Systems

Voice Carrier (News - Alert), a provider of business VoIP phone services to SMBs, has received interoperability certification from Toshiba (News - Alert) for its IntelliSIP trunking solution. As such, IntelliSIP now provides a seamless experience with Toshiba's IPedge IP business communication systems. As part of this certification, Voice Carrier's IntelliSIP trunking services are now available from Authorized Toshiba Dealers throughout the U.S.

"Certification of Toshiba's IPedge with Voice Carrier's IntelliSIP trunking services provides enterprises the interoperability of Toshiba's feature-rich IPedge IP business telephone system with a high-quality, enhanced SIP trunking service," said Mark Carpenter, vice president of Technology and Product Management for Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division. "Authorized Toshiba Dealers can now offer their Toshiba IPedge customers Voice Carrier's cost-effective, simple-to-deploy, and easily managed SIP trunking service as part of their enterprise telephony systems."

Released earlier in July, IntelliSIP is designed to reduce the monthly phone bills of businesses, while extending the functionality of their existing PBX (News - Alert) with various phone services and features. Like all Voice Carrier products, IntelliSIP features a unique pricing model which charges by the number of concurrent lines required, rather than the total number of seats or extensions, allowing businesses to be charged based on how they use their phone system.

With its new IPedge certification, IntelliSIP now allows potential customers to retain their existing IPedge business communication systems and phones, preserve and port existing phone numbers, optimize Internet bandwidth investment, connect and add remote offices and employees to an existing phone system, and enable enterprise-grade call services with cloud-based redundancy.

Toshiba's IPedge system, meanwhile, facilitates the use of multiple unified communication applications — such as call processing, voicemail and centralized system administration, for example — on a single Linux server. Benefits of IPedge include survivability within or across the network to support business continuity, native use of SIP trunks without the need for additional gateway equipment, and forward-looking support for endpoint devices and applications.
