The Internet Service Providers’ Association (ISPA) recently announced that it has honored Telappliant with the title of ‘Best Internet Telephony (News - Alert) Provider’ award. A ceremony to commemorate the winners of the well-known and valued 2013 ISPA Awards was held at London’s Park Lane Sheraton Hotel on July 11.

For the past 15 years, ISPA has been honoring organizations based in the U.K. in the Internet arena. Malden Electronics (News - Alert), the technical testing associates of ISPA, carried out thorough testing of all the entries for two months. An autonomous panel of industry professionals evaluated the entrants’ written papers.

In a statement, a spokesperson for ISPA said, “In a very tight contest, the judges decided that Telappliant’s transparency and impressive network resilience meant they were worthy winners.”

Around 300 industry representatives, elected officials, media and government officials were present at ISPA’s formal ceremony. While popular comedian Sean Collins hosted the event, Bill Thompson, a broadcaster and technology reviewer, presented the keynote address.

ISPA also honored Hyperoptic with the ‘Best Super-Fast Broadband’ award. While Sky Broadband won the ‘Best Consumer Fixed Broadband’ award, the ‘Internet Hero’ award was won by Dr. Julian Huppert, MP.

Tan Aksoy, chief executive officer at Telappliant said, “Following our ‘Best Business ITSP’ award from ITSPA earlier this year, we are thrilled to be awarded the ‘Best Internet Telephony’ ISPA. I am particularly delighted that the judging panel commented on Telappliant’s network resilience, which is an area we have invested heavily in over the last 12 months.”

The ISPA was founded in 1995 and is the official trade alliance for providers of Internet services in the U.K. The U.K. Internet industry is supported by the organization in order to offer vital assistance via advances, information and experience, resulting in gains for the U.K. financial system and users in general. ISPA encourages teamwork and beneficial discussions between its members and the broader Internet community.  

Telappliant is a provider of VoIP telephony services to small and medium sized enterprises in the U.K. The organization, launched in 2003, is the owner of a major VoIP network in the U.K. Telappliant is also one of the founders of the Internet Telephony Services Providers Association, or ITSPA.
