Globalroam Selects SPIRIT Voice Engine Mobile

By SIP Trunking Report Contributor

Looking to power its new mobile client application, Globalroam, a Singaporean innovative service provider, has licensed SPIRIT DSP’s TeamSpirit Voice Engine Mobile. The mobile client application from Globalroam allows customers to make economical VoIP calls through their iOS or Android smartphones.

By selecting the SPIRIT engine, Globalroam has taken the first steps toward offering inexpensive international roaming services for its clients. It will allow the company to compete with other major players in this field such as Skype and Viber.

This application makes use of data connections to make telephone calls. With SPIRIT's TeamSpirit Voice Engine Mobile, Globalroam can now develop software to facilitate voice communication with dependable and stable HD Voice quality.

TeamSpirit Voice&Video Engine is a digital signal and network processing SDK that provides improved HD voice and video communications on all popular mobile and desktop platforms. It also facilitates developers to bring their products quickly to market.

“We aim to be the global leader in connecting people across diverse media, and offer our mobile phone users top voice quality to talk to their online friends," said Tan Kum Wah Clarence, Globalroam’s founder and CEO. "GlobalRoam’s patented technology saves costs to people who wish to reach their overseas friends, and adds convenience of contacting their online acquaintances from any location. With SPIRIT's high quality support, we successfully integrated Globalroam Softphone with TeamSpirit Voice Engine Mobile, which works impeccably on popular smartphones and tablets.”

In 2011, LG U+, South Korean's leading mobile and telecommunications service provider, also selected SPIRIT's TeamSpirit Voice&Video Engine Mobile. This was done in order to provide HD-quality business VoIP and video calling on mobile devices.
