AdventNet Intros New VoIP Monitoring Solution

By SIP Trunking Report Contributor

Developers of ManageEngine AdventNet Inc. today announced that they’re offering support for monitoring of H.323 protocol-based VoIP traffic with the release of VQManager 6.1.

ManageEngine is a suite of network management and security software solutions. VQManager 6.1 monitors VoIP environments that use SIP, Cisco SCCP or H.323 protocols for call signaling and RTP or RTCP protocols for media transfer, according to the company.

Company officials said that ManageEngine VQManager is a VoIP monitoring software solution, equipped with monitoring, alerting, reporting and archiving functions to help keep the VoIP services up and optimized.

Officials say that the software’s call centric approach to VoIP monitoring ensures every attempted call is kept track of. Also, it provides comprehensive insights on Answer to Seizure Ratio, VoIP traffic trends, call quality trends, bandwidth utilization and overall VoIP network health, according to the company.

The updated version, VQManager 6.1, features support for the legacy H.323 protocol, ensuring coverage of VoIP equipment vendors and protocols, and also provides a single interface for complete VoIP network monitoring, company officials say.

Plus, other features of this version include concurrent calls reporting; quick drill-down from VoIP QoS and MOS graphs; configuration wizard for easy set-up; and support for Cisco CallManager 6.x environments.

Sridhar Iyengar, product Manager at VQManager, said that enterprises today are spoilt for choice by the many players selling low-cost VoIP equipment, adding “unfortunately, this is not the case in VoIP monitoring and analysis solutions.”

“What VQManager brings to the table is simple, cost-effective, vendor-neutral monitoring and troubleshooting over a single monitoring console,” he said.

“We are using VQManager to troubleshoot complete acceptance testing after very sophisticated VoIP deployments. This tool is invaluable to Sage Innovations due to its graphic nature and highly adaptable features,” said Adam Menne, business development manager at Sage Innovations.

Both for Windows and Linux platform, ManageEngine VQManager is available as a downloadable file. Company officials said that a 30-day fully functional, professional edition is available for evaluation from the Web site.
