Allowing software developers and web sites to easily embed rich media communications into applications such as Microsoft (News - Alert) Outlook, IntelePeer — a provider of hosted on-demand rich media communications — will showcase its new IntelePeer AppworX open communications platform at INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO West 2008, taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from September 16 - 18, 2008.

Charles Studt (News - Alert), IntelePeer's vice president of product management, will moderate two panels on Software as a Service (SaaS) on Wednesday, September 17 during the conference portion of the ITEXPO show. Studt will serve as moderator for "Software-as-a-Service at 9:00 a.m. At 11.00 a.m., Studt will moderate, "SaaS (News - Alert) for Virtual Call Centers" and will be joined by Ari Klionsky, vice president of business development for Transera and Erica Plastino, director of marketing for LanguageLine.

Improved with powerful voice, rich media features and widgets powered by IntelePeer (News - Alert) AppworX, attendees can see IntelePeer demonstrate multiple Web and enterprise applications on the floor. The demonstration of VoicePoke! for Facebook, which is considered to be an example of the rapid development capabilities enabled by IntelePeer AppworX, will highlight the social media widget that allows members. Along with a message to their friends' phones and mobile devices, it will make use of the new Facebook (News - Alert) Web site to send audio and video files. Members can VoicePoke friends directly from Facebook and can schedule future reminder phone calls using text-to-speech or sound files. VoicePoke will immediately connect the call if people want to speak immediately.

Microsoft Outlook users can join conference calls automatically with Auto-Conference. There is no need to remember the dial-in number or access code/PIN. Auto-Conference automatically dials the participant at a specified number and prompts the participant to automatically connect into the conference at the scheduled time. The participant is prompted to press 1 and is automatically placed into the conference call.

“Voice remains 'The Killer App' for our global carrier customers, and it is quickly becoming part of the user experience for web companies and application software vendors,” said Charles Studt, IntelePeer vice president of product management. “However, the complexities of developing high-quality voice and rich media applications is a challenge that has limited innovation and broad adoption in these emerging markets. In our booth, we will show how the IntelePeer AppworX platform, which is delivered as a hosted service backed by a software-controlled network, simplifies the development process, eliminates the need for capital investment, and speeds time-to-market for these new revenue-generating applications.”

IntelePeer is a Gold sponsor of INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO — the biggest and most comprehensive IP communications event of the year. ITEXPO will take place in Los Angeles, California, September 16-18, 2008, featuring three valuable days of exhibits, conferences, and networking opportunities you can’t afford to miss. Visit IntelePeer at booth #135 in the exhibit hall. Don’t wait. Register now!
