Acme Packet (News - Alert), a provider of session border control solutions, reportedly announced that O1 Communications, a California-based wholesale VoIP solutions company, is deploying its Net-Net 4500 to expand its SIP peering services.
With the deployment of the Acme Packet solution, service providers will be able to originate and terminate voice calls throughout California with a single IP connection.
The benefit to O1 Communications’ customers is that they can expect the highest levels of voice service quality, even in the presence of increasing call volumes with this deployment, according to the company.
Voice quality is an important concern for O1 Communications, since the company is offering innovative data and voice telecommunication products in a highly competitive market. O1 serves business enterprises and wholesale providers with a suite of products including SIP peering, SIP trunking, private network/multi-protocol label switching, co-location and enterprise voice and data service.
Net-Net 4500, a recently announced addition to the Net-Net 4000 series, offers secure and seamless interconnection of IP networks for multiple services and applications offered to enterprises throughout the West Coast and to service providers globally.
“Our subscriber base expects nothing less than the highest levels of voice service quality even in the presence of increasing call volumes,” said Brad Jenkins, president and chief executive officer for O1 Communications. “As we expanded our network, the Net-Net 4500 was the easy and logical choice. We doubled our session performance and capacity relative to our installed Net-Net 4250s by simply loading the same configuration file.”
According to Acme Packet, Net-Net 4500 increases performance and capacity by 100 percent or more in session border control, multi-service security gateway and session routing proxy product configurations.
“We are thrilled that Acme Packet has been offered the opportunity to play a continuing role in the expansion of O1 Communications’ network,” said Seamus Hourihan (News - Alert), vice president of Marketing and Product Management for Acme Packet. “The Net-Net 4500 is an excellent complement to the Net-Net 4250 systems that O1 Communications has already deployed and will provide them with the flexibility, performance and capacity needed to fuel the continued growth and expansion of their services.”
