Developing enabling technologies for service providers, Ingate Systems (News - Alert) today announced its has selected a new Chief Executive Officer, IP communications innovator, Anders Eriksson.

Ingate Systems is known for its innovation, developing new technologies that help customers benefit from SIP communications. The company has also created strong relationships with well-known IP-PBX (News - Alert) vendors and Internet telephony service providers.

“This combination has helped to build Ingate into one of the strongest players in the industry,” said Eriksson. “Interoperability is key to increased adoption of SIP among enterprises. At Ingate, we look forward to continuing our work with industry leaders to provide solutions that meet the high standards necessary for today’s businesses to remain competitive: with secure, fully interoperable solutions that position them for success now and in the future.”

“We are pleased to have recruited Mr. Anders Eriksson as CEO,” said Karl-Erik Stahl, Ingate Systems chairman of the board. “Anders Eriksson brings with him a long history of success in the telecommunications industry, with deep roots in the carrier side of the business. As we now see a growing interest from carriers for SIP trunking solutions, Anders’ experience will suit us well.”

Eriksson most recently served as chief executive officer and member of the board for Zitius Service Delivery AB, a broadband communications operator in Sweden that he co-founded in 2003. Zitius saw strong growth during Eriksson’s tenure, and soon became the premier neutral broadband operator.

Eriksson also held a leadership role at Alcatel Nordics (now Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert)), a global provider of telecommunications equipment and services, where he was general manager for the Broadband Communications Division, based in Denmark.

He led Alcatel Nordics through post-merger integration activities after the company obtained Newbridge Networks A/S, a Canadian broadband and telecommunications equipment manufacturer, where Eriksson had been chief executive officer of the Nordic operations.

Before working for Alcatel Nordics, Eriksson was the sales director for the Network Systems Division at Siemens (News - Alert) in Sweden.

Eriksson is a graduate of the Linkoping Institute of Technology (Sweden), where he received a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Management Engineering.

Ingate Systems develops firewall technology and products that enable SIP communications for the enterprise while maintaining control and security at the network edge. Ingate has a long history of developing next-generation firewall technology that solves the NAT/firewall traversal issue with SIP. In addition to an extensive line of Ingate Firewall products, the company also produces the Ingate SIParator, a device that connects to an existing network firewall to seamlessly enable SIP communications.

Ingate Systems AB is headquartered in Sweden with offices in Stockholm and Linköping. Its wholly owned subsidiary, Ingate Systems, is located in Hollis, New Hampshire.
