Network operator XO Communications (

The new feature -- the latest addition to
XO Business Continuity Solutions -- ensures employees are reachable and responsive in the event of a disaster, regardless of their location. It compliments
XO Connect, a multi-modal mass notification service which the company introduced last year that allows customers to deliver urgent communications to thousands of recipients simultaneously via telephone, text message or email. The company also offers
XO Anywhere, a unified communications tool for customers deploying IP Flex and IP Flex with VPN that allows employees to work remotely just as of they were in the office.
The company announced last week that its network has now been expanded to serve all 50 states – this thanks to agreements with two leading domestic and international carriers which XO signed in the past year. One agreement was focused on expanding the company’s domestic footprint, the other focused on expanding its reach overseas. The company claims that as a result of these agreements it now has coverage in 22 countries on five continents, including Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
XO Communications also announced that XO SIP, its award-winning SIP trunking solution, is now certified interoperable with most of the leading IP-PBX (

"With a growing number of multi-location enterprises deploying XO's converged voice and data solutions, we knew that enhancing our nationwide VoIP services was critical to providing even more capabilities to make our customers' networks simpler and easier to manage," said Vince Margiotta (

release. "Moreover, our cost-effective VoIP services, together with our networking and business continuity solutions, will enable our customers to boost productivity and streamline efficiencies more than ever before."
To date, more than 16,000 businesses nationwide with more than 680,000 end users have deployed XO Communications’ VoIP services. The company claims that the latest enhancements to its VoIP services portfolio, which includes
XO IP Flex,
XO IP Flex with VPN and
XO SIP, will greatly enhance the communications capabilities of mid-sized and enterprise business customers seeking a single nationwide voice and data solutions provider.
In July XO Communications
announced that it has been selected to provide a nationwide MPLS IP-VPN solution for Ottawa University, a leading higher education institution with six campuses located across four states.
