WaveCrest, a global communications service provider offering wholesale and retail telephony services, has reportedly migrated from DIGITALK’s TDM-based Intelligent Switch architecture to an NGN solution based on DIGITALK’s SIP Media Application Server.

Wavecrest is one of DIGITALK’s longest standing customers, offering hosted Prepaid Calling Card solutions, residential and wholesale services since 1998.

As stated, this migration to the NGN solution is aimed at bringing immediate operational expenditure savings from lower co-location costs resulting in 80 percent reduced rack space, and considerable power consumption savings. This, according to the company, is possible with the increased availability, enhanced services such as Web Calling Card for WaveCrest’s prepaid calling card customers, and a future-proof solution for expanding new services on the DIGITALK Multiservice Platform.
