Toshiba (News - Alert) America Information Systems Inc.’s Telecommunication Systems Division has announced that its Strata CIX IP business communication systems are now certified interoperable with Xchange Telecom’s SIP trunking service, MetroFlexIP.
MetroFlexIP SIP Trunking is designed for small- to medium-sized businesses seeking a more flexible SIP Trunking solution. It offers numerous features and capabilities that differentiate it from other SIP trunking services, including:

--User’s choice of using Xchange Telecom’s data circuits or any third-party provider circuits
--Nationwide DIDs, which are available for more than 90 percent of the country’s rate centers
--Seamless transition from the user’s existing carrier, with virtually no down time
--Xchange Telecom’s Web portal, which allows users to forward their main number via any Internet connection
--Failover routing at no extra cost
The MetroFlexIP service is now available from authorized Toshiba Dealers nationwide.
“Xchange Telecom’s MetroFlexIP SIP Trunking gives enterprise users of Toshiba Strata CIX VoIP systems an affordable and flexible choice for nationwide SIP Trunking services,” said Alfred West, president and CEO of Xchange Telecom, in a release. “Xchange Telecom provides a seamless transition from the enterprise’s existing carrier to MetroFlexIP SIP trunks, eliminating down time and providing a cost-effective SIP solution.”
New York City-based Xchange Telecom is a full service, facilities-based CLEC providing customized communications solutions for the SMB and consumer markets. In the past month Toshiba has announced that its Strata CIX IP business communication systems are also certified interoperable with NTELOS’ SIP trunking service, NTELOS Integrated Trunking, and XO Communications' SIP trunking solution, XO SIP.
In the release, Shahin Hatamian, vice president of product management for Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., Telecommunication Systems Division, said the goal of these interoperability certifications is “to give our Strata CIX enterprise users a choice of services, giving them the options that make the most sense for their unique needs and preferences.”
