XO Communications has announced that its XO SIP service is compliant with Aura Communication Manager and Avaya (News - Alert) Aura SIP Enablement Services from Avaya, a provider of business communications applications, systems and services.

Avaya has compliance-tested XO SIP for compatibility with Avaya Aura Communication Manager 5.2 and Avaya Aura SIP Enablement Services 5.2. Previously, XO had completed interoperability testing with XO SIP and Avaya Communication Manager 5.1 and SIP Enablement Services 5.1 and Avaya IP Office 4.2.4.

A fully integrated solution, XO SIP has been designed to support the needs of businesses with a demanding voice and data applications at single or multiple locations. The solution uses session initiation protocol signaling and a native IP-based facility to manage all traffic between a customer’s IP-PBX (News - Alert) system, the XO IP network, and the public switched telephone network.

In addition to eliminating the need for businesses to maintain multiple access facilities for voice and data services, XO SIP also eliminates the need for bandwidth-consuming protocol conversions.

Additionally, XO SIP includes a broad range of bandwidth options and features dedicated Internet access with dynamic bandwidth allocation; unlimited local calling; unlimited site-to-site calling for multi-location customers with IP; Flex, IP Flex with VPN and XO SIP locations; long distance calling with choice of calling plans; and more.

“Together, Avaya and XO Communications (News - Alert) can help enterprises get even more out of their communications investments and ensure existing and new communications infrastructure can work seamlessly together to connect users, applications and systems,” said Vince Margiotta (News - Alert), vice president of product marketing at XO Communications.

Eric Rossman, vice president for developer relations and technical alliances at Avaya, added that by participating in Avaya’s compliance testing program and committing to open standards, development partners like XO Communications are helping businesses get more out of their network investment.

XO Communications, a subsidiary of XO Holdings, is a provider of communications services and solutions for businesses, enterprises, government, carriers and service providers. As a gold/platinum member of the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program, The company is eligible to submit products for compatibility testing by the Avaya Solution Interoperability and Test Lab.

XO Communications is a member of the Avaya DevConnect program. The program is an initiative to develop, market, and sell third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology.

Earlier in September, the company announced its plan to augment the capacity of its nationwide IP network in response to increasing growth of IP traffic on its network and demand for high-speed Internet access services from enterprises and wholesale customers.
