Canadian hardware and software supplier
TelcoBridges Inc. has reportedly
introduced two new members to its Tmedia family of products, the TMG5800 and the TMG7800.
Both offerings are designed for service providers looking for high density media gateways that combine performance with the simplicity of TelcoBridges’ (

Service providers who are planning to consolidate equipment at the network core and simplify their production system management activities can adapt TMG5800, the company said.
This new offering supports up to 64 T1/E1/J1, 3 DS-3 or 1 STM-1 interfaces and has the ability to run third party applications - such as softswitches and session border controllers locally. It can even consolidate multiple signaling and connectivity devices into a 2U form factor, while providing up to 2,048 non-blocking voice.
The company said that the new TMG7800 could be an ideal solution for core switch replacement, designed to meet the needs of service providers converging TDM and IP networks, or consolidating multiple racks of devices for call control and media into a single system. It can host third-party applications such as softswitches or session border controllers, to further support consolidation and convergence efforts.
The Tmedia TMG7800 even supports up to 32,768 non-blocking ports through an interchangeable mix of E1/DS-3/STM-1 interfaces and delivers core network services, such as media gateway, VoIP signaling, transcoding, tandem switching, advanced call routing and fax relay.
“TelcoBridges has built its reputation on helping our customers scale their solutions to any size, and today, we’re putting even more processing power and functionality into the pre-packaged media gateways,” said Gaetan Campeau (

In addition to these features, both the TMG5800 and the TMG7800 media gateways support the drive by service providers to reduce the environmental impact of their network footprint.
