According to the memorandum, both groups will work together to enhance their respective training and certification programs in mobile and wireless technology. To supply the needed expertise for the mobile broadband industry, these programs have been designed to train engineers in mobile and wireless technology. The fast networks, powerful smartphones, innovative applications, and increasing customer penetration are leading to a very considerable growth in the mobile industry day by day.

Mainly, the organization is looking for the constituents, members, executive members, and successful candidates of the MCPC certificate program as the potential enrollers for its WCET program, and hopes the MoU to accelerate the process. Also, the engineers in Japan will also be encouraged to pursue certification by IEEE through the IEEE WCET program.
Both MCPC and IEEE ComSoc are looking forward for this partnership to bring bigger number of Information and Communication Technology of ‘ICT’ engineers in the arena of wireless industry, which will be helpful in further development of the sector.
According to Yasuhiko Yasuda, chair of MCPC, the MCPC Mobile System Engineering Certification Program was started in 2005, and is highly regarded by companies in Japan including operators and vendors. Yasuda said that the organization looks forward to gaining broader awareness of this program by working with IEEE ComSoc.
Celia Desmond (
