Acrobits to Develop White Label iPhone Softphone Solutions for VoIP Providers

Acrobits, a provider of mobile device software solutions based in Prague, Czech Republic, is releasing its softphone application on a white label basis for VoIP providers.

The Peoplefone Softphone application is a customizable softphone client. Now, the company will develop custom-made iPhone (News - Alert) softphone clients for VoIP providers, so that their customers can make calls via the iPhone.

In order to enable the iPhone and iPod Touch users make VoIP calls, the company developed Acrobits Softphone, which needs to have an account with a SIP VoIP provider.

According to a press release, the application offers a number of intuitive features, which include push notifications for incoming calls, which delivers a notification on the iPhone for incoming calls received when Acrobits Softphone is not running. The application automatically answers the calls for Gizmo5 (News - Alert) users and users with certain Asterisk configurations. It supports bluetooth for iPhone OS 3.1, and leverages the audio codec manipulation to enable the user to prioritize the codecs used and disable ones not needed to be used.
Acrobits Softphone offers a call recording and playing functionality, which has been seamlessly integrated into the call history, and displays a comfortable and super-smooth user interface, fine-tuned specially for the iPhone.
The users can fully localize the application depending upon their native language, currently available for English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Czech and Slovak languages. It supports multiple SIP accounts, offering easy switching among them. The users can seamlessly integrate the Softphone into their iPhone phonebook, making it easy to call anyone in the contacts via SIP.
To offer excellent sound quality, the application deploys G.711 audio codec, supports incoming calls and lets the users dial up to 12 contacts with a single tap a finger through its practical quickdial panel. It is able to generate DTMF tones while in call, to control various PBX (News - Alert) features or automated systems at both audio and RFC2833 standards. The company aims at adding further enhanced features to the Acrobits Softphone in future, that include support for multiple calls, call forwarding, voicemail, and many other features not available to the VoIP users as yet, which will benefit both Acrobits Softphone users and users of Acrobits’ white label clients.
According to Acorbits, the company has found a way for VoIP providers to increase their market share in the lucrative market created by the iPhone by designing custom softphone applications for them.
In June, Flaphone, a VoIP solutions provider, had announced to offer some updates to its Flash-based VoIP application, which had introduced first Adobe Flash-based SIP VoIP app called Flashphone (News - Alert), later renamed Flaphone in the year 2007.
