FrieslandCampina, a dairy cooperative from Netherlands, reportedly has chosen Verizon Business (News - Alert) to install a secure and efficient IP based wide area network data communication platform for its business applications.

Verizon is expected to arrange fast and secure connectivity to FrieslandCampina for the use of its business related usages. The secure connectivity is expected to connect FrieslandCampina head quarters at Amersfoort, the Netherlands with its 21,000 plus employees, members and business partners located all over the world.

Presently FrieslandCampina is depending on different service providers offering dissimilar type of network services to connect 16000 cooperative member dairy farms and the production and sales facilities located in 27 sites all over the world. Utilizing the time consuming and expensive type of networks FrieslandCampina is managing the client orders and supply.

FrieslandCampina has opted for Verizone as a single service provider to integrate its wide area network for improved efficiency, cost effective management, and improved performance and to support its worldwide growth.

The business experts and the managed security services group deployed by Verizon Business for the purpose are planning a smoother changeover to the proposed network settings. The managed security service of Verizon is taking initiatives to introduce additional security settings for the protection of critical company data. The newly planned setup will allow FrieslandCampina to fully utilize the potential of the network setup to improve its productivity and to sustain business development.

Nuria Simo, corporate CIO at FrieslandCampina, said: 'Our business strategy is to be a truly global, innovative, reliable and flexible organization, and having a single global network to support our operations is central to our plan. Our new network will provide a secure foundation for future strategic projects as our business grows, such as the move to a global voice-over-IP (VoIP) environment, and other IP-enabled communications solutions.

About selecting Verizon Nuria said, “Verizon Business was selected based on the company's global reach and proven leadership in all our critical IT needs of network, security, solutions and services. In addition, as an existing supplier, the company already had proven its worth as a business partner, and had invested time to understand our business.'
