Making use of the DIGITALK SIP Application Server, Kalaam Telecom, one of Bahrain's alternative operators, has migrated to a full NGN solution. This shows the growing acceptance and trust of VoIP technology in the region, believes DIGITALK (News - Alert).
The DIGITALK Media Application Server is a highly scalable SIP Application Server with integral Media Server functions to enable complete service execution. The Media Application Server supports DIGITALK's service-ready applications, such as Broadband Telephony, IP Virtual Office, Service Numbers and Prepaid Calling Cards.
With this agreement, Kalaam Telecom can optimize service offerings and are now able to more effectively grow and serve their subscriber base with a reduced operational cost model. The company can also offer revenue generating services on top of existing service offerings with this agreement. DIGITALK have extensive experience in migrations from legacy TDM to NGN infrastructures.

With NGN DIGITALK Multiservice Platform (a SIP based Application Server), users get various advantages such as enhanced redundancy, security and load-sharing capabilities due to the integral Session Border Controller. They can also improve customer service quality and strengthen loyalty by increasing uptime and solution availability. Kalaam Telecom believes that by investing in NGN infrastructure, the company can take better advantage of the cost savings.
In March 2009, SezamPro, an independent telecommunication operator in Serbia, deployed the DIGITALK Ltd. Multiservice Platform to deliver a number of value-added services. A national deregulation of voice services in the European nation made SezamPro (News - Alert) deploy DIGITALK's Broadband Telephony service-ready application. The Serbian provider is providing the Class 5 voice solution to residential and business customer, and is also deploying the European prepaid Calling Card solution.
