InPhonex: 'We Are Entering a New Era'

By SIP Trunking Report Editor

For today’s service providers, there’s no time like the present to invest in lucrative next-generation communications, from video to HD voice.

In turn, there’s no better time to be a company like InPhonex, which is focused on helping service providers create telephony products without having to dig their heels too deeply into telephony.

On Thursday, Matt Bramson, chief sales officer for InPhonex, sat down to discuss these topics at TMC’s Norwalk, Conn., headquarters.

InPhonex, which creates scalable solutions based on its telephony platform technology, is seeing a growing interest among service providers who want to offer multiple next-gen services and utilities, including VoIP, hosted PBX, SIP trunking and more.

“What we started to see in the last year or so was a real opportunity,” Bramson told TMC. “Service providers want to offer VoIP services, but they don’t want to be in the telephony business.”

Specifically, service providers don’t want to own or license a softswitch, and they don’t want to take on hardware costs. They’d rather just be able to offer a service with a recurring monthly revenue stream, such as hosted PBX service for $40 a month.

It’s for this reason that InPhonex decided to invest in the ‘nuts-and-bolts’ infrastructure, Acme Packet session border controllers and other hard stuff – revamping its technology platform to better accommodate this burgeoning service provider population.

“Now that we have all that, we can be a complete solution for service providers wanting to play in the cloud space,” Bramson said.

InPhonex today is making headlines for offering a one-stop shop for telephony. Clients get the whole gamut of services, from a strong marketing strategy to support for a diversified customer space.

Additionally, service providers who choose to work with InPhonex also choose, a-la-carte style, the set of branded voice services to complement their existing offerings without developing expertise, investing capital or incurring high operating expenses. Termination services are available in 150 countries; local and toll-free numbers can be obtained in 70 countries; and local number portability is provided in 13 countries.

Said Branson: “We think we’re pretty good about that – buying and managing telecom services.”
