Check Point Secures Data Center of the Future with Check Point 61000 Security System

Check Point Software (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of Internet security solutions, has launched its new Check Point 61000 security system that is designed to offer scalable performance for a number of customer segments.

The new 61000 security gateway system offers a scalable security solution to users such as data centers, telecommunication and cloud service providers. It offers multi-bladed hardware platform with performance of more than 1Tbps in a single firewall and 200 Gbps this year.

Company officials said the new system supports 70 million concurrent connections and 600,000 sessions per second, bringing security performance to multi-transaction environments.

The Check Point 61000 boasts a SecurityPower of up to 14,600 SPUs today, providing the power equivalent to approximately 150 of today's typical enterprise appliances and more than 12 times the performance of high-end appliances available on the market.

“The 61000 is designed from the ground-up to support the unique service requirements of data centers and service providers,” said Gil Shwed, founder, chairman and CEO at Check Point Software Technologies, in a statement. “It combines advanced security technologies to control network access and protect against sophisticated attacks, Web-based threats or infected mobile devices.”

Check Point customers are expected to benefit from a multi-hardware blade and multi-software blade gateway that can grow with additional hardware and software innovation, company officials said.

Recently, Check Point Software announced that it received a five-star rating in SC Magazine's Endpoint Security Group Test and received the publication's "Best Buy (News - Alert)" rating. Check Point Endpoint Security R80 received the highest possible scores in all categories, including: Features, Ease-of-use, Performance, Documentation, Support and Value for Money.
