GENBAND (News - Alert), a developer of IP infrastructure and application solutions, announced that Tbaytel, an independently owned telecommunications services provider in Canada, has picked GENBAND to provide Secure SIP services throughout its fiber-to-the-home network.

The integrated solution encompassing the S3 Session Border Controller (SBC), A2 Communications Application Server, and Professional Services and Training provided by GENBAND along with Tbaytel’s existing softswitch architecture will helps in deploying robust, hosted business and consumer VoIP capabilities and functionality, said officials.

GENBAND is providing Tbaytel with a single source validation and testing solution which will be part of a complete IP transformation services and support solution. It will also include on-site training and knowledge transfer which is expected to increase ROI on integrated IP infrastructure.

According to company officials GENBAND’s S3 SBC protects service provider and enterprise networks as they offer a multi-layered security against Internet threats that tend to disrupt or disable IP networks. Such attacks include flood attacks, DoS/DDoS attacks, and SIP signaling attacks.

As GENBAND’s A2 Communications Application Server is seamlessly integrated with the S3, it is capable of providing Tbaytel with carrier-grade, full-featured telephony and multimedia applications as required by businesses and residential users for SIP functionality and unified communication implementation.
