MACH Aids European Tier 1 Telecoms Operator with Fraud Protection Solution

MACH (News - Alert) has bagged a new deal from a tier 1 European telecoms operator to offer its MACH Fraud Management Solution to drive down fraud across the operator’s fixed network.

In terms of volume data analyzed, the installation is said to be the largest fraud management system in Europe. This win will also strengthen MACH’s space in the fraud protection market, closely following its purchase and successful integration in June last year of fraud management specialist Optel Informatik.

MACH Fraud Management Solutions is known for offering simple user interface, flexible data integration, intelligent fraud protection policies and 24x7 case management. It is backed by advanced and patented signalling analysis technology, in combination with high speed processing of event data records, to ensure that operators are alerted to suspicious activity almost as soon as it happens.

With the deployment of Fraud Management Solutions, the telecom operator is expected to reduce false alarms and speeds up case resolution. It also frees up internal resources that would otherwise have been dedicated to fraud analysis, while also providing confidence that new services can be launched without fraudsters being able to capitalise on them.

Joseph George, director of Product Management, Fraud and Revenue Assurance, MACH, commented, “We are committed to future investment in our fraud protection and revenue assurance roadmap so that we can meet the revenue protection demands of next generation networks. This major customer win is a milestone for our domestic fraud management service, demonstrating that we have the capabilities to successfully undertake one of the largest projects of its kind in Europe.”

In other news, MACH recently announced the launch of an automated solution that allows mobile operators to compare their wholesale roaming inter-operator tariffs (IOTs) with interconnect termination rates.
