NeoMedia Technologies, Inc., provider of mobile barcode management solutions, announced that it will be collaborating with The CauseWay Agency, leading experts in PSA (Public Service Advertising) creative development, strategic planning and distribution as well as media marketing, and monitoring, for the delivery of new Intellectual Property (IP) Theft Prevention public education campaign which has been conceptualized by the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC).
Launched at the White House, the IP Theft Prevention campaign was developed for tackling the issue of counterfeit and piracy of products. The campaign also focuses on creating public awareness about IP theft, illegal downloads, counterfeit consumer goods and pharmaceuticals and pirated materials.
NeoMedia has extended its barcode management and infrastructure solution to NCPC. A mobile barcode will be included in the printed ads and posters used in the campaign which will link it to an online video titled, “It Hurts,” which explains how IP theft is akin to stealing. A user with mobile barcode reader in his camera phone has to simply scan the code to view the video.

NeoSphere, a mobile barcode management and infrastructure solution from NeoMedia, used in the campaign highlight the ease of using mobile barcodes by brands who wish to link them to the mobile Web to further enhance the print or static media by making it more interactive while also improving the brand experience for its customers.
