Adax Partners with AuthenTec to Build Adax IPsec

By SIP Trunking Report Contributor

The combined power of AuthenTec’s widely deployed QuickSec IPsec toolkit and Adax Packet Processing Boards are stated to be the basis of the new released Adax IPsec, a comprehensive carrier-grade IPsec security solution.

Adax, a provider of solutions for high-performance packet-processing, security and network infrastructure, stated that it knows that there is a need for a binary IPsec solution based over a hardware platform that is capable of hardware acceleration.

With wide adoption of LTE architecture, more security risks are stated to be present due to its flatter and more IP-centric nature. The new integrated solution from Adax that merges high performance IPsec with the hardware acceleration of the Adax packet processing blades and modules is capable of meeting users’ performance and security requirements.

IPsec is defined by 3GPP as the security protocol for both control and user plane applications in LTE. The new Adax IPsec assures robust and standards-compliant authentication, confidentiality, and data integrity for network nodes such as the LTE MME, SGW, PGW, HSS and PCRF nodes.

Officials with Adax claimed that security in IP networks has been and continues to be of great concern to end users, network service providers and therefore to network equipment and application developers. But many of those users don’t want to know about security in the network, they simply want to use it as a part of their application. Adax’s integrated solution enhances security while reducing application development costs and time to market for those applications.

TMCnet reported that the QuickSec Toolkits offer compliance with IPsec security standards including updates to IKEv2 and the performance needed for today’s multi-core processor-based network routers, carrier-grade security gateways, and mobile VPN devices.

AuthenTec added that through its collaboration with Adax, it worked to solve many of the issues facing today’s network system and application developers. It is pleased that Adax selected AuthenTec’s QuickSec for their new Adax IPsec solution which combines high-speed network functionality in a cost-effective solution that is compliant to the latest security standards.
