Last Friday, SaaS (News - Alert) security company StopTheHackers, announced an opportunity for value added resellers (VARs) to apply malware security to their security service solutions offered to customers. StopTheHackers notes the increasing demand for web security services and offered statistics to demonstrate the market’s need for improved and diverse security methods. Security issues are one of the most vital determinants of the future to any web-based business. StopTheHackers hopes to reach potential clients who are seeking enhanced security to reduce their vulnerabilities.

A company release noted that StopTheHacker’s VAR program is seeking 20 to 30 active VARs in North America who will offer StopTheHacker's suite of web security services in exchange for receiving a new revenue stream. The first VARSs to respond to the program will be offered exclusive rights to some markets, permitting them to sell at higher margins.

According to StopTheHackers, less than 10% of websites are completely protected from malware. The company asserts that although “New Web 2.0 malware is dynamic, current anti-virus software that relies on signature detection catches only 40 percent of harmful web malware.” That means that more than 75 percent of hosted websites are vulnerable to malware attack. StopTheHackers noted that 6,000 websites per day are blacklisted by Google (News - Alert) because of malware infestation. The company said that the malware threat would only grow over the next few years.

StopTheHacker anti-malware solutions perform automated malware cleanup and readjust their security settings to protect against other malware programs. Among the features included in StopTheHacker’s suite are Website Health Monitoring, Vulnerability Assessment, Blacklist and Reputation Monitoring and Facebook (News - Alert) Protection, according to a company release.
